Put Me In, Coach!

Our Cahn Project centered around collaborative coaching and implementing a complete coaching cycle, including a walkthrough with the Admin Team, a debrief with the Admin Team, a debrief with the teacher, to include a collaborative coaching conversation to identify a high leverage action step, and then a follow up learning walk within a week’s period. The cycle would then repeat and through this process, we focused on building the capacity of the teachers and the Admin Team. Our goal was to increase student achievement through modeling and implementing high leverage research based strategies. This is now “The Way” that we conduct walkthroughs and provide feedback to our teachers. This project essentially has created a new system for the way that we empower our Admin Team and teachers to learn, grow, and master their craft.
