Restructure, Revamp, Revitalize!

We restructured our leadership team and our distributive leadership practices to better-meet the needs of our school community. We set out to reconcile some of the major challenges that had gone unaddressed over the past few years, including the fact that our school had nearly doubled in staff size and has grown and changed with regards to our staffing model. We responded to the need for clarity in communication and accountability, and the need for revitalizing key systems in our school, such as DDI, MTSS, and coaching. In six phases, we set out to implement both short-term shifts, as well as major restructuring of distributive leadership systems that would set our school community up for success in the 2023-24 school year and beyond. 

We accomplished our goal and restructured leadership roles in a way that has provided clarity to staff, and increased effectiveness of the key systems that affect student culture and achievement. We have implemented our new Strategic Leadership Model in the 2023-24 school year, and begun to refine the model even further with educator feedback. Throughout this work, we’ve improved staff morale, increased the effectiveness of teams within the school, and provided clarity and accountability to our staff in essential areas where clarity was previously lacking. In addition to the specific successes we’ve had thus far, we’ve set up processes for ongoing improvement, staff input and positive shifts of educator mindsets.
