Where Are You Going?

P721K administrators pondered the question “Where are YOU Going?” in response to students' trajectory of their individual goals; which will determine the success of their tenure at P721K.
The foundation and guiding principle of this question is our school's mission to enable our young adult students to live and work in their communities as independently as possible. The project inquiry is to focus on promoting autonomy while simultaneously decreasing unnecessary intrusiveness during delivery of instruction, resulting in a higher rate of independence in acquiring new skills. This supports and leads our students to greater opportunity and independence towards post-secondary goals.
Our school continues to implement the Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) methodology for our K-2 students diagnosed with Autism. Our students diagnosed with moderate to severe disabilities between the ages of 14–21 years old utilize Essentials for Living (EFLs). In reviewing data of students (born in 2007-2008) with Individual Educational Plans (IEP) to our high school program, the data indicates that incoming students require an increase in support academically, physically, and emotionally to improve their well-being.
