Building Capacity to Ensure Equity and Access for All Students

Andrew Jackson Language Academy is known for its diversity and academic track record of success. In our commitment to celebrating our diversity while also ensuring that each and every student is academically successful, equity is critical in our school improvement plan. Our Cahn project focuses on upholding our equity commitment with the goal of closing our math achievement gap and supporting our students’ social emotional needs. This project highlights our school leadership action steps and strategies that support our equity commitment. By building capacity amongst our staff so they are able to support the academic achievement and social-emotional learning competencies of our priority students, we were able to positively impact the math achievement of our Black students and improve social emotional learning systems school-wide.
