After several years of continuous improvement in student achievement, the results at Gunsaulus Scholastic Academy (GSA) flat lined and stalled. As most schools in similar situations do, the school conducts root cause analyses that leads to various hypotheses for it. In collaboration with teacher leaders, strengthening the curriculum, using student assessment data to improve instruction, and focusing consistently on the needs of diverse learners, English learners, and other historically underperforming students at our school emerge as actions to address.
