Ownership + Action = Results Performance Share Session

Kelly Thigpen Cahn Fellow 2019

Teachers live inside the four walls of their classrooms. We wanted to create an opportunity for departmental teams to collaborate more while sharing classroom data outcomes while providing a safe support structure. Many of them want to share the great work they are doing and get support and feedback from their colleagues in areas where they were struggling. The typical data meetings would take place between the administration and a teacher. We wanted the sharing to move beyond administration because our conversations offered so much insight from teachers, and these conversations were isolated. We also recognized that teachers learn and grow best from one another, sometimes better than what a leader can offer. Therefore we created “Performance Management Sessions.” which was later renamed “Performance Share Session.”
