The Pressures of “Improvement Required”

Marco Morales Cahn Fellow 2019

My project seeks to focus on how to support teachers through the high-stakes and pressures of school improvement. For the purpose of this project, school improvement will revolve around the Texas Education Agency’s Effective Schools Framework (ESF) and Targeted Improvement Plans (TIP) for schools rated “F” under the state’s accountability system. To develop my leadership skills, this project focuses on two questions: How do I communicate change (the expectations of ESF and our TIP), and to what extent does my leadership support or inhibit teachers through the process?
